]po[ Developer Conference

This year's developer conference will take place from September 11th to September 14th, 2008

Program

The program is build to allow a broad range of persons to take advantage of the event:

  • Thursday the 11th: Configuration and Data Model This one-day session consists of introduction, overviews and guided exercises on how to configure ]project-open[ and how to access its data based on real-world reporting examples. This day is suitable for managers and consultants with certain SQL knowledge. No TCL programming skills are required. You should prepare yourself by studying "SQL for Web Nerds".
  • Friday the 12th: ]po[ Software Development This one-day session will introduce you to TCL programming in the ]po[ context and present the various ]po[ APIs. This session is build on the "Configuration and Data Model" introduced the first day. You should prepare yourself by studying "TCL for Web Nerds".
  • Sat & Sun the 13th and 14th: Guided Exercises and Community meeting. During these two days you will have the opportunity to extend your experience, work on with our guidance on own projects or continue to develop your real-world examples from the previous sessions. A tutor (Frank Bergmann) will be available for the group to provide you with practical tips and to answer your questions.

Sessions start at 9:30h. Besides a lunch break of one hour there will be breaks in the morning and in the afternoon.

Location

The Vila Clara Art Hotel is a Break of Century Villa located 30km north of Barcelona, Spain in a village called "San Andreu de Llavaneres". The hotel is located 3 km from the "San Andreu de Llavaneres" train station, with train connections to the Barcelona airport.

Social Activities

Friday night we will have dinner/social gatherings in order to maximize both enjoyment and the opportunity to exchange with your fellow professionals. We will facilitate an excursion into Barcelona night live on Saturday after dinner.

How to Get There

San Andreu de Llavaneres is located some 30km north of Barcelona. You can either take a taxi directly from the Airport or you can take the train. The "Vila Clara Art Hotel" is located close to the center of the village, approximately 3km from the train station.

Price

The following options are available (VAT not included):

  • One Day (11th): € 600,- including training, coffee and light lunch.
  • Two Days (11th + 12th): € 1100,- including training, coffee and light lunch.
  • Three Days (11th + 12th + 13th):€1450 including training, coffee and light lunch.
  • Four Days (11th + 12th + 13th + 14th): € 1.650 including training, coffee and light lunch.
  • Guided Exercises Only (13th + 14th): € 650 including training, coffee and light lunch.
    This option is limited to participants with TCL development experience.

Accommodation is €70,-/night (per person in a double room) or approx. €100,-/night (per person in a single room), including breakfast.

Early Bird Registration

You will get a 10% discount on the conference price if you register before July 31st. The discount is not available for the accommodation cost.

Reservation

The maximum number of participants is limited to 40, so please reserve your seat as early as possible. We will probably not be able to take reservations later then two weeks before the DevCon.
